Mapping a Network Drive - How to Map a Network Drive in Windows xp

In Windows  Mapping a Network Drive means in My-computer you Create a Shortcut to a shared file or  a folder located on remote computer in you're local Area network so you don't have to type network address each time you want connect.

First Open My-computer, in tools menu click  map network drive.now map network drive window will appear.

Now Select a drive letter from drop down menu and type network path(you can use either name or IP address of the remote computer) of share folder or computer, alternatively you can click browse button and find available share folder and computers.



if You Want network drive to be available even after you restart computer click reconnect at logon checkbox

Now Click Finish Button to map network drive.

New Window will prompt to ask username and password, Type valid username and password use to connect to share folder or computer, if you don't have a username and password Contact you're system administrator.
